Tech4Gamers' testing found the 245K ahead in synthetic multi-threaded benchmarks by around 12%, but behind the 14600K in specific gaming tests: 13.6% slower in Cyberpunk 2077, about 6% slower in Microsoft Flight Simulator, with a few titles landing dead even. Gaming is exactly where the 245K's architectural changes don't fully translate into an advantage.
Why this happens
